Since emerging in 1987, French pianist Philippe Bianconi has been a classical mainstay, dazzling in solo recitals and with many of the world’s great orchestras. He’s celebrated for recordings of Claude Debussy’s piano works, particularly a 2012 interpretation of the complete Préludes that uncovers hidden nuances in the classic 24-piece collection. Bianconi extended his survey of the composer’s solo work in 2020 with deft pacing and an evident affection for Debussy's études, but the versatile pianist is equally accomplished rendering Chopin with a powerful restraint and balancing light and shadow in Schumann's work.
