Pharoah Sanders: The Session Musicians

Pharoah Sanders: The Session Musicians

No two ways about it: Saxophonist Pharoah Sanders cut his teeth working for some of the biggest, baddest names in jazz. Jamming with Sun Ra (“The Shadow World”) as well as both John and Alice Coltrane (“Consequences” and “Something About John Coltrane,” respectively), Sanders squawked and soared among some of the avant-garde's finest. His work with the Don Cherry Quintet (“Remembrance”) was a sublime meeting of the free minds.
