While she started out making folk music, Toronto expat Peaches became famous for crafting a brash, raunchy electro-punk sound fit for the world's most debauched dance-floors. Briefly referred to as “electroclash,” this aesthetic combined lo-fi, bass-heavy production with lascivious lyrics, and in the hands of Peaches it sounded like pure sex: hot, messy, and liable to wake the neighbors.
