Peaceful Paganini

Peaceful Paganini

Paganini is responsible for some of the most difficult violin music ever written. Only the very finest players are able to approach the fiery Caprices for solo violin, and during his lifetime, it was rumored that Paganini had sold his soul to the devil in return for his virtuosity. There is, however, a sweeter side to Paganini, beginning with the serene “Cantabile” for violin and piano, through to the stately “Adagio flebile” from the Violin Concerto No. 4, and the composer’s lyrical, delicate writing for guitar.
