Pavement: Deep Cuts

Pavement: Deep Cuts

Often considered the ne plus ultra of American indie rock, Pavement spent the '90s working very hard to seem as if their finely crafted slacker-pop was something they just tossed off. But their albums were filled with examples of their passion and diligence: Hard-charging missiles like "Flux = Rad" revealed the group's lesser-known punk side, while lumbering, solo-heavy ballads like "Fillmore Jive" hid a stunning beauty beneath their rough edges.
