Alinka was born and raised in Kyiv, but grew to being a true house music advocate as an emigrant to Chicago, the genre's original hometown in the late '80s. She's been a resident at Smartbar's .Dotbleep nights, later hosting own club nights and running the Twirl label together with Shaun J. Wright.
