Born and raised in old Berlin's far west, Fadi Mohem grew up on the capital's deep ties with electronic music, particularly for him it was drum & bass and dub techno. His initial fascination with bass-heavy, percussive music soon led to music production – first DIY, then studying audio engineering and working as a mixing engineer at Tobi Neumann’s Apollo Studio. Having released on local labels WERK, Modeselektor's label Seilscheibenpfeiler and Ben Klock's Klockworks, playing live and DJ sets, Mohem has established himself as a purveyor of groovy, boomy, old school-leaning techno, but always with a fresh approach. With Berghain Playlist 11, Fadi Mohem lines up deep, dust-dry and groove-driven Detroit and dub techno in a meticulous track order, as experienced story tellers do.
