Ostbahn-Kurti Essentials

Taking on personas in rock music is not uncommon, but Austrian lyricist Günter Brödi went one step further. He invented an entire history for Ostbahn-Kurti, and did his best to fool people into believing the character was real. He accomplished much of that with his songs, and with the help of singer Willi Resetarits' throaty, vulnerable vocals. Ostbahn-Kurti's personality also flows through forlorn and downhearted German-language renditions of Bruce Springsteen and the Steve Miller Band's classic rock.
