Nightmares on Wax Essentials

Nightmares on Wax Essentials

Initially a duo with Kevin Harper, Nightmares on Wax recorded hardcore techno tracks, and were one of the early acts signed to Warp Records. Their debut, A Word of Science, combined techno and trip-hop, and marked George Evelyn's shift towards jazz and hip-hop. Now solo, he's had a huge impact on trip-hop, alongside Massive Attack and DJ Shadow, and his albums Smokers Delight and Carboot Soul are classics of the genre. In the '00s, Evelyn continued to push the N.O.W. sound forward, blending elements of reggae, African music, and more into his patented grooves.
