Nickelback Essentials

Nickelback started as a covers band called Village Idiots, but soon realized they had the chops to write their own material. Borrowing $4,000 from frontman Chad Kroeger's stepfather to record their first demo, they catapulted to superstardom with their breakthrough third album, 2001's Silver Side Up. This heady mix of grunge and classic hard rock was certified multi-platinum in America, the U.K., and their native Canada. And by 2005's All the Right Reasons, they were selling out arenas around the world.
