New Edition Essentials

When New Edition burst onto the scene in the mid-'80s, they became R&B's biggest boy band since the Jackson 5. When you hear their sweet harmonies and kickin' grooves, it's easy to understand why. Comprised of Ralph Tresvant, Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell, Ronnie Devoe, and Michael Bivins, the Boston-bred quintet captured the hearts of teens worldwide with their 1983 debut Candy Girl. Brown left the group to pursue a successful solo career in 1986, but the group continued its success with 1986's Under the Blue Moon and the double platinum Heart Break two years later.
