Together since 2007, Nevilton is a quirky, off-kilter indie-rock trio led by Brasilian-born singer-songwriter Nevilton de Alencar, who commands the spotlight with a brash, wryly amused panache. The band makes feel-good songs where slinking, bluesy grooves meet scratchy, math rock rhythms and power pop melodies. Their repertoire includes the hooky indie-dance number "Melhorar", and "Sacode" rocks hard with glammy panache. "O Morno" has a classic punk rock strut and inspired three-part harmonies.
