Mudhoney Essentials

Mudhoney Essentials

While Nirvana and Soundgarden stole the headlines, it was Mudhoney who established the grunge template. The Seattle quartet, formed in 1988 by Mark Arm and Steve Turner, made an instant impact on the indie rock world with a blend of Stooges swagger, Sabbath heaviness, and a sharp sense of humor. As the band progressed, their stylistic palette grew to embrace their love of '60s garage and '70s punk. One of the only acts to survive the '90s alt-rock explosion with lineup and sanity (mostly) intact, Mudhoney continue to release new albums and inspire a new generation of bands.
