Mick Harris Essentials
After leaving grindcore pioneers Napalm Death in the early '90s, drummer Mick Harris brought his aggressive energy to the world of electronic music, and while he was no longer pounding out blast beats, each of his new projects throbbed with menace. Working as Scorn, Harris crafts thunderously heavy rhythms that he drowns in industrial-grade noise, transforming the grooves of hip-hop and dub reggae into brutal assaults. Even when he ditches the drums entirely on his releases as Lull, Harris creates a singularly eerie vibe, taking ambient music to some very unsettling places indeed.
