After founding the Friends of Natasha rock group with Arkadi Duchin in the mid-'80s, Micha Shitrit achieved both commercial and artistic success while becoming known for his songwriting abilities. His solo career, from the '90s onwards, revealed him to be a sensitive if not too prolific writer and guitarist, whose gruff voice stood in contrast to his delicate lyrics. He became known as a musician's musician, writing material for a long string of Israeli artists, as well as producing albums. Now he's considered one of the greatest down-to-earth folk-rock (and rock) singers in Israel.
