Max Norman got his break when Ozzy Osbourne sacked his producer on Blizzard of Ozz and asked Norman, whose only previous credit was a live Tubes album, to pick up the slack. With a metal classic under his belt, Norman went on to work with a rollcall of hard rock and metal acts, taking a side trip in 1983 to co-produce an album by punk godfather Ian Hunter.
