Hailing from Yahualica de González Gallo, Jalisco, and based in San Jose, California, norteño veterans Los Huracanes del Norte have appeared regularly on Mexican regional charts since their 1973 debut. More than 50 albums later, the four García brothers and company are famous for colorful accounts of outlaw life, all punctuated with gleeful, high-pitched gritos. While other groups upped the body count, Los Huracanes offer relatively PG portrayals of drug runners and other mavericks "Con el Alma Bohemian" (With the Bohemian Soul”), as one of their more beautiful waltz-time corridos puts it.
