Like Bon Iver before him, Ben Schneider's moment of musical clarity came when he was alone in nature. His first EP, the exploratory Into the Sun, was recorded in Michigan on the shores of Lake Huron, near to where he grew up singing around the campfire. Those adventurous songs demanded live performances, and so Lord Huron became a full band. More EPs and albums — including Lonesome Dreams and Strange Trails — followed, with the band delving into the mythology of Western pioneers and rekindling those lost campfires.
