Between propulsive rhythms and freewheeling guitar riffs, post-hardcore indie rockers Ling tosite sigure fuse high-tempo energy with a hauntingly distorted undercurrent. Formed in Saitama in 2002, the trio dropped two albums via indie label Nakano Records before signing to Sony in 2008. Lead songwriter TK and bassist 345 align their contrasting vocal colours to give each track an evocative sense of urgency—whether they’re on the Fuji Rock Festival stage or composing themes for hit anime series, they combine melodic paranoia with poignant lyricism.
