Les B.B. Essentials

Les B.B. Essentials

Through the late '80s and early '90s, Les B.B. were one of Quebec's most beloved bands, with a slick sound that typified mainstream rock in the pre-grunge era: big, powerful drums; synth jabs subbing for horn sections; riffs infused with a bluesy twang (or, in the case of 1991's Snob, hitched to shuffling dance grooves). In Patrick Bourgeois, the band possess a captivating singer with an equal facility for upbeat, fist-pumping rockers and graceful balladry; comeback efforts released through the 2000s showed his capacious spirit undiminished by the passage of time.
