Lacey Sturm wears many hats: mother, Christian, author, motivational speaker, and of course, one of the most expressive rock vocalists of her generation. Born Lacey Nicole Mosley in 1981, she rose to fame as lead singer of the Texas act Flyleaf at a time when frontmen still dominated hard rock and alt-metal. After a trio of albums that won over mainstream rock and CCM fans, Sturm struck out on her own. On 2016’s Life Screams and 2023’s Kenotic Metanoia, both recorded with her husband and collaborator, Josh Sturm, she walks an emotional tightrope strung between tenderness and defiance. Sturm’s gift for wringing every ounce of passion from her voice has made her a popular collaborator; she has worked with a who’s who of hard-rock acts, including Breaking Benjamin, P.O.D., and her close friends in Skillet.
