Emerging from a small community in the autonomous Basque Country, La Polla Records (a.k.a. La Polla) epitomised Spanish punk rock's rebellious spirit with a string of influential releases from the outset of the '80s. Daring, exhilaratingly outspoken and immensely fun—despite the dark social and political forces they came up against—the band serve up an irresistible combo of bouncy rhythms, fast-paced riffs and raucous choruses. Albums like Dónde Se Habla can incite slam-dancing pit thrills, but their more melodic rock and folk influences will also gratify more thoughtful punks.
