While Pendulum were still taking a final swing before their hiatus in 2012, founder members Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen had already joined forces to start Knife Party. The duo originally got together as a side-project, and began introducing more contemporary EDM rhythms, builds, and drops into the hard-driving drum 'n' bass with which they had made their name. With Pendulum out of the way, they put out a few exploratory tracks. Soon, “Bonfire” attracted the attention of Breaking Bad's producers, and gave them their first hit.
