Jay Scøtt Essentials

Since the early 2010s, Jay Scøtt (born Pier-Luc Papineau in 1989 in Terrebonne, Quebec) has been steadily releasing music that reveals his ever-expanding tastes and heartfelt emotions. His early music came out under the name PL3, but in 2017, he rechristened himself Jay Scøtt and released his debut full-length, Stockholm. Scøtt broke through in the early 2020s when his self-released folk cut “Copilote” was remixed by the Montreal MC FouKi; it got enough radio traction for Scøtt to get signed, resulting in 2021’s Ses Plus Grands Succès, which collected the songs he’d been putting online over the years. In addition to collaborating with his provincial peers, he released the salute to Quebec hip-hop Rap Queb, Vol. 1 in 2022; in 2023 he and Montreal vocalist-musician Mike Clay put out the collaborative album Clay Scott.
