Il Guardiano Del Faro Essentials

Taking a stage name that means “The Lighthouse Keeper”, Federico Monti Arduini was indeed a beacon of the ’70s synth movement. A prodigy performing piano concerts in his native Milan by the age of eight, he soon began songwriting for popular acts like Mina and Giorgio Gaber, before assuming the moniker Il Guardiano Del Faro to release his own compositions. He was an early adopter of the Moog synthesizer, putting its new age sounds into dialogue with rich, analogue orchestrations to lull the listener into a meditative, dreamlike state, as on his highly influential 1978 album Oasis.
