Iggy Pop Essentials

Iggy Pop Essentials

With his ferocious stage presence and snarling vocals, Iggy Pop defined punk-rock attitude. Born James Osterberg, Iggy first achieved infamy in the late '60s as the howling frontman for chaotic proto-punk band The Stooges. In 1977, he launched an endlessly unpredictable and prolific solo career. He'd go on to record a bewildering array of hilarious and hard-rocking albums, score some unexpected Top 40 hits, and become an alternative icon in the process. He even reformed The Stooges in 2003, when he was well into his 50s, having lost none of his energy or intensity.
