Holly Humberstone Essentials

Singer-songwriter Holly Humberstone records vulnerable, diaristic songs that reveal a wise-beyond-her-years perspective. Born in 1999 in Grantham, England, she debuted with the 2020 EP Falling Asleep at the Wheel, which paired keening piano and sleek pop production with unsparing emotional observations. Humberstone expanded her sonic approach on 2021’s The Walls Are Way Too Thin, building on her piano-driven foundation with languid R&B flourishes and ’80s electro-pop. Humberstone has also proved herself to be an excellent collaborator, with the Sam Fender acoustic duet “Seventeen Going Under” and the d4vd-featuring “Superbloodmoon” showing off her nuanced vocal gifts.
