Hole's 1991 debut album made them alt-rock darlings thanks to Courtney Love's emotionally raw songwriting. While the group worked on a follow-up, Love married Kurt Cobain. Shortly after his suicide, Hole released Live Through This, one of the harshest albums to ever go multi-platinum. Hole disbanded in the early 2000s, but Love revived the name in 2010 with a new sound and lineup.
