Once you've picked up on GWAR's brand of mayhem, this costumed metal band transcend their mythology with convincing yet mirthful parodies like “Metal Metal Land” and “Ham On the Bone.” The joke's on those who take GWAR's high brutalism seriously. But with gags as great as those in, say, “Tormentor”—“It is said his thews are mighty/It is said his views are righty”—that shouldn't be a problem.
