Rapper Talib Kweli first made a name for himself in Black Star (alongside Mos Def), with Reflection Eternal (with producer Hi-Tek), and through his breakthrough guest spots on Mood's 1997 underground classic Doom. It was a full five years after those early spotlight verses that he put out his debut solo album, 2002's Quality. Always a style chameleon, the rapper alslo teamed-up with artists outside his backpacker comfort zone.
