Andy Cato and Tom Findlay were nightclub owners before dabbling in music production. They first achieved success with a beachy, down-tempo sound, but earned a GRAMMY® nomination and mass acclaim once their music got groovier. Over the years, it's become increasingly difficult to pin Groove Armada down to one genre—they often straddle the line between chillout, electro-pop, and house. While their 2010 album Black Light successfully mixed classic '80s sounds with contemporary songwriting, their other releases have stuck to down-tempo expressions.
