Godsmack Essentials

Godsmack Essentials

Originally called The Scam, Godsmack formed in 1995, taking their new name from an Alice in Chains track. Drummer Sully Erna quit his role in the band Strip Mind and moved front and center as vocalist and lead songwriter for the new group. Their heavy mix of riffs and growling angst took them to the top of the charts—with 2003's Faceless, 2006's IV, and 2010's The Oracle—and around the world, touring with the likes of Metallica, Limp Bizkit, and Mötley Crüe.
