Gente De Zona: Black Power Represents

For Black Music Month 2019, beloved Cuban duo Gente de Zona put together a playlist of music that pays homage to the impact their respective families’ musical tastes had on their careers. “We grew up with these songs; our parents played them at every party, every birthday,” says Alexander Delgado. “And they’re not just Cuban.” His partner Randy Malcom agrees. “We really enjoy the music we grew up on, and we’ve been wanting to make songs just like these Latin icons for many years,” Randy adds. “We had the opportunity to create versions of some of these songs using the sounds and rhythms of our generation in our album En Letra de Otro.”
