Explosions in the Sky Essentials

Following a name change from Breaker Morant in 1999, Explosions in the Sky quickly carved out their space in the late-‘90s post-rock movement spearheaded by Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Mogwai. Embracing a guitar-focused and melodic sound, the group released a trio of acclaimed records before breaking into the mainstream with the sprawling soundtrack to Friday Night Lights in 2004. The quartet's emotional candor has since been picked up by other Hollywood ears, as they've ventured down a sideline scoring further film projects.
