Amy Lee is the beating heart of Evanescence. The classically trained pianist and vocalist co-founded the band with guitarist Ben Moody in Little Rock, Arkansas, mixing hard rock, gothic metal, and classical influences. Their debut album, 2003's Fallen, was a massive hit, picking up two GRAMMY® awards and reaching multi-platinum status along the way. Moody left the band mid-tour in 2003, citing "creative differences," with the rest of the line-up following suit soon after, leaving Lee as the only original member on 2011's self-titled album.
