Earl Palmer: The Session Musicians

From the ‘50s on, sticks-wielding superman Earl Palmer helped define both rock and R&B. He’s the man laying down the rock ‘n’ roll stroll on Fats Domino’s “I’m Walkin’” and fueling Little Richard’s frenzy on “Tutti Frutti.” But Palmer also helped Sam Cooke sway on “You Send Me” and amped up the drama of Ike & Tina Turner’s majestic “River Deep – Mountain High.”
