Dr. Dog: Deep Cuts

The nooks and crannies of Dr. Dog's catalog reveal the venerable indie-rock band's fondness for tackling numerous styles at once. "100 Years" starts as a sparse, trembling folk jam before morphing into a burst of sunny psychedelic pop, while the out-there "Badvertise" is a wobbly electro-glam number with theatrical piano trills. Even the easygoing "My Friend" shifts gears midsong from twangy classic rock to barnstorming, pastoral prog.
