Cave In Essentials

Cave In Essentials

Rising up from the underground in the late '90s, Cave In played a mind-bendingly complex and savagely raw mix of hardcore punk and extreme metal. While their early releases made them instant metalcore icons, Cave In quickly and dramatically switched up their sound, spiking their thunderous post-metal anthems with psychedelic flourishes swiped from vintage prog rock and space rock. While the band flirted with melodic alt-rock on 2003's Antenna, Cave In soon returned to their heavy roots, balancing classic metal brutality with surprisingly gorgeous and adventurous songwriting.
