UK metal legends Carcass formed in '85. '88 saw the release of their debut LP, Reek of Putrefaction and although the band was very unhappy with the quality of the recording, the album arrested the attention of BBC 1 kingmaker John Peel who had them record a session in his legendary studio in '89. During the next six years Carcass pioneered the vicious and high-velocity aural attack of grindcore and cultivated a legion of fans. A brief hiatus capped the band's first successful decade; they regrouped in '07, and '12 brought us the well-received Surgical Steel.
