Brooke Fraser Essentials

Once a teen hitmaker in her native New Zealand, Brooke Ligertwood (née Fraser) has gone on to become a Christian-pop powerhouse. Born in 1983, in Wellington, the singer-songwriter signed to Sony Music at age 18 before dropping her debut, What to Do with Daylight, in 2003. That album, a cosy collection of wistful folk-pop, pushed her fast into the spotlight. There, she’s remained a commanding presence with global hits like 2010’s country-tinged stomper “Something In the Water” and 2015’s rousing synth anthem “Kings & Queens”. In between, she’s penned soaring praise & worship songs with Hillsong Worship, including the 2017 Grammy-winning ballad “What a Beautiful Name”. Under her married name, she continues to weave her faith into ambitious pop anthems.
