Editors’ Notes If there's one thing Beth Hart doesn't want, it's to be pigeonholed. After spending the better part of the '90s honing her chops in the L.A. club circuit, the dynamic singer/songwriter/pianist is as comfortable crooning rough-hewn blues tricked out with jazzy brass and organ (“Damn Your Eyes”) as she is giving affectionate confessionals dipped in the shimmering waters of West Coast folk rock (“LA Song”). She's had a string of collaborations with Joe Bonamassa, their “I'd Rather Go Blind” giving equal weight to her smoky pleas and his wailing guitar licks, while showing the pair's shared passion for anguished soul ballads.
