In the 1970s, Mexican musicians were inspired to raise a ruckus by Chuck Berry, to write their own material by The Beatles, and to embrace their percussive roots by Santana. Bands like the animated Los Dug Dug's, the progressively inclined Nahuatl, and the blues-influenced Three Souls in My Mind did their own hard-rocking thing with an exuberant Latin tinge.
