Beres Hammond: Deep Cuts

Beres Hammond: Deep Cuts

An icon of Jamaican music since the ‘70s, Beres Hammond has spanned eras and styles. He proved his roots bona fides early on with Zap Pow ("Bubblin' Over"), then moved on to solo lovers rock ("Black Beauty," "See You Again"), and eventually made his mark with dancehall-inflected groovers ("Strange," "What a Life"). Hammond's voice remains singular and relevant: Dig "Too Rock," his 2018 hit with Alborosie, aka the Italian Reggae Ambassador.
