Base Ball Bear have cultivated a career of scrappy guitar anthems overflowing with kinetic pop-rock energy. The Tokyo band takes cues from J-rock forebears, American pop-punk and Britpop in equal measure while crafting a backdrop for guitarist Yusuke Koide's deeply nostalgic lyrics about youth. His jumpy, energetic delivery blends with bassist Shiori Sekine's peppy backing vocals on "Electric Summer", a track driven by splashy hi-hats and buoyant riffs. On "Yume is Vision", pulsing bass lines and churning rhythms drive the music forward.
