Barenaked Ladies Essentials

The Barenaked Ladies' mix of folky sing-alongs and polite Canadian humor struck a chord in the early '90s, when one of their early demos, known as The Yellow Tape, became the first indie cassette to reach platinum status in Canada. The band's official debut, Gordon, contained old fan favorites and future BNL classics, including "If I Had a $1,000,000 Dollars," which brought the band international fame and actual sales of a million albums. But the real success came with their fourth release, Stunt, which made them stars in the U.S. and elsewhere. One part of the Ladies' distinctive harmonies disappeared when singer Steven Page left in 2009, but the band continued on with All in Good Time and Grinning Streak.
