Babyface Essentials

Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds is one of modern R&B's most influential artists. He's impacted the genre as a singer, songwriter, producer, and label head for famed LaFace Records, which he co-founded with L.A. Reid. He exploded onto the scene as a solo artist with his 1989 album Tender Lover, which sold over three million copies. His 1993 release For the Cool in You achieved the same success, and his follow up, The Day went multi-platinum. Babyface has written for Bobby Brown, Paula Abdul, and Mary J. Blige, just to name a few, while LaFace has been responsible for the careers of TLC, Toni Braxton, Outkast, and Usher.
