At Home With Meghan Trainor: The Playlist

“This is a sign that we need to make our child now,” Meghan Trainor says about expecting her first child with husband Daryl Sabara during the pandemic. “I think everyone else got that memo too. A lot of pregnant people right now!” Despite these challenging times, the pop singer-songwriter is looking forward to growing a family and giving her parents the joy of a grandchild—which she considers to be the best part of her 2020. Fresh off the release of her debut Christmas album, A Very Trainor Christmas, Trainor is already coming up with ideas for album number four and writing lullabies on her ukulele for her baby that she could potentially turn into an EP or album—though not until after she settles in to being a mother first. On this exclusive Apple Music playlist curated by Trainor herself, she’s included personal favorites by The Corrs, Mike Sabath, ABBA, and Wilson Phillips, saying she wishes she could one day write a song as great (and as cheesy) as their 1990 hit “Hold On.” “The hardest thing is to write one of those, which is my goal in life,” she says. “And it's such a good message, but it was released in the perfect time where it wasn't cheesy then. That's what my problem is: I need more cheese.”
