At Home With Blake Shelton: The Playlist

Blake Shelton wasn’t sure if he’d ever make another album again. “I'm about to turn 45, and sometimes it's harder for me to just go, ‘Well, what is it that I feel like saying at this point in my life?’” Shelton tells Apple Music. “At this point in my life, I'm not trying to prove anything or make sure that people are receiving this special message that I'm trying to send them through my music. I just like great country songs.” That didn’t stop the country megastar from releasing his 12th LP Body Language, which he believes is a “great album that's full of the best songs I can come up with.” In fact, he likes them so much that he’s included three of the album's singles on this exclusive Apple Music playlist he curated himself. Other artists on the playlist include Earl Thomas Conley, Martina McBride, Lindsay Ell, and, of course, his fiancée Gwen Stefani. “You talk to her and she sounds like Gwen, but when she sings, all of a sudden, it's the girl; it’s ‘Don’t Speak,’” he says about her performance on the ’90s power ballad with the band No Doubt, included here. “We've done four songs together, and I'm still in fan-shocked mode when I actually work with her.”
