The Allah-Las are so thoroughly steeped in the sights and sounds of '60s rock that they could've easily popped out of a time capsule originally sealed during the Johnson administration. Founded by a bunch of hardcore record collectors in L.A., the outfit expertly blend folk rock's haunted melancholy, garage rock's fuzzy primitivism, and pitch-perfect hooks drawn from the dustiest corners of the British Invasion vaults. On top of all that historical goodness, nearly every kernel of sound comes drenched in reverb so cavernous it frequently spills over into psychedelic ooze.
