Francophone songwriter Alex Nevsky’s kaleidoscopic, genre-hopping 2010 debut, De lune à l'aube, established him as a pop force. Born in Granby, Quebec, in 1986, Nevsky graduated from his hometown’s École nationale de la chanson in 2007, using his education to cement a formal musical base from which his melodies and arrangements spring. His 2013 album, Himalaya mon amour, is lush and jubilant, and 2016’s Nos Eldorados introduces electronic elements to Nevsky’s orchestration and distinct rhythms. In 2016, his pop expertise landed him a judge spot on reality show La Voix Junior and, later, La Voix. On his 2019 record, Chemin sauvage, Nevsky’s eclectic sound continues to blossom with sophisticated rhythms, soulful vocal turns, and choruses that mix French and English for the first time since 2010.
